Who are Laura and Barry Ash?
Laura and Barry Ash, a married duo, have made a significant impact in the cosplay world since their start in March 2022. Their creations, reminiscent of comic book heroes, are not only a source of entertainment at Comic Cons but also a means for meaningful change. They actively support charities like The Pilgrims Hospice, Demelza House, Tree of Hope, and Great Ormond Street, using their popularity to raise funds and awareness.
Their journey in cosplay, though brief, has already seen remarkable achievements. They’ve appeared on Channel 4 TV, attended Warner Bros. movie events, and hosted a successful panel at MCM London, inspiring many to embrace the joy of cosplay. Beyond their cosplaying talents, Laura and Barry are community builders and advocates for joy and charity, embodying the true superhero spirit in every aspect.
“Embodied within that hope is the fundamental belief the potential of every person to be a force for good. That’s what you can bring them” Jor-El
Our Mission ❤️
In a world where so much has been taken from so many in the past few years, our mission is to be a beacon of hope and joy, demonstrating that even in the face of adversity, we can still foster unity and kindness. Our journey began in the wake of the global lockdown, and ever since, our focus has remained steadfast on ‘giving back.’
We believe in creating a community that stands together, extends helping hands, and emboldens each other to tackle life’s challenges. Our efforts are guided by two powerful mantras: #SmileAndPassItOn and #IfYouCanHelpSomeoneYouShould. These are not just hashtags; they represent our commitment to foster a culture of benevolence and joy.
Our 3 Key Pillars 💙
- Community: Building a community of support, unity, and mutual respect, where each member values and uplifts others.
- Giving Back: Utilising our platform and resources to give back to society, particularly those in need, in any way we can.
- Being Bold: Encouraging our community to live life boldly, to face challenges head-on, and to never shy away from doing what's right, no matter the circumstance.

Our Story
Laura and Barry Ash, known as the dynamic superhero duo, trace their passion for superheroes back to childhood. As kids, they were inspired by characters like Fire Star and Ice Man, setting the stage for a lifelong love of heroics. Their journey into cosplay, however, truly began under the encouragement of Paul Blakeborough, a friend and owner of Get Ready Comics. Recognizing their natural talent for bringing characters to life, he urged them to pursue cosplay more seriously.
A poignant moment in 2021 marked a turning point for Laura and Barry. The loss of Barry’s mother to pancreatic cancer deeply affected them. She knew of their cosplay plans and the charitable cause behind it, although she never saw them in costume. To honor her memory and the care provided by The Pilgrims Hospice during her final days, the couple embarked on their first charity mission, “Superman’s Beard Shave”. This event, held at Get Ready Comics and supported by Shayne Kingham, raised an impressive £4500.
